		<description>I&#039;ve just found it necessary to show hidden files on a Mac, and it wasn&#039;t easy.

I searched and discovered this website:

To view all hidden files:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder

To hide the files:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE

		<description>Something you might notice on Macs - no hash (#) key!

You can still type a hash character though - just use Alt+3.  Incidentally, that generates the £ (pound) symbol on US layout keyboards.</description>
